Winter Weather Advisory issued for Clearwater County National Weather Service-Missoula has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Clearwater County and surrounding areas which will be in effect until 9 a.m. Pacific Time Saturday for snow and ice. Icy roads and surfaces overnight will impact travel as ongoing snow showers have caused wet roads. Temperatures in the 20s tonight will cause patchy ice and slick driving conditions. Showers are decreasing and should end around midnight. Ice will persist until after sunrise, according to NWS-Missoula. Locations of impact include paved roadways across Central Idaho and Western Montana. A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, blowing snow or ice accumulations will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities and use caution while driving. Orofino, at elevation 1,040 feet, is expected to get snow showers before 11 p.m. and have a low around 29 degrees. Total nighttime snow accumulation of less than a half inch is possible. On Saturday there is a chance of rain and snow showers with the snow level at 1,000 feet. It will be partly sunny with a high near 45 degrees and calm wind. Little or no snow accumulation is expected. Pierce, at elevation 3,241 feet, is expected to have snow shower mainly before 11 p.m. An overnight low around 24 degrees is expected. Total nighttime snow accumulation of less than half an inch is possible. Saturday there is a 30 percent chance of snow showers, mainly after 11 a.m. It will be partly sunny with a high near 39 degrees. New snow accumulation of less than half an inch is possible. |
