Editor's Note: Window on the Clearwater has joined the Wednesday's Child network to help spread the word about children that are waiting for families to give them the loving care that they need. Each Wednesday we will profile a different child. For more information about Wednesday's Child and how you can be involved check the web site at: http://www.idahowednesdayschild.org/.

Kade

Age: 13

"Hi, my name is Kade. I love sports, especially football, basketball and track. I play sports at school, but football is my favorite. I also enjoy playing video games, like racing games and war games. If you asked my best friend about me, he would say I'm funny and I get in trouble at school for talking too much. I enjoy making people laugh. I'm looking for a family with parents who care about me, are nice and are normal. I want both a mom and a dad, and a family with other kids. It would be nice to have some kids about my same age. I want parents who are relaxed, funny, not really old, and will take me places.

I really don't care about living in the country or in the city. Right now I live in a small town, and it's ok. It would be nice to stay in the same area to keep in contact with some important people in my life. One thing I would want to do with my family that I've never done before is go to Disneyland or Disneyworld."

Kade is a quiet young man when he first meets new people, but once he is comfortable, his quit-witted, mischievous, and fun personality shines through. Get him talking about something he really likes, such as football, and he can chat with anyone quite comfortably about it. He talked about his favorite team, the New England Patriots, his favorite player, Randy Moss of the New England Patriots, and his dreams of someday making it big in football. He talked less enthusiastically about school and is struggling to keep his grades up. However, his caseworker stated that he has typically always done well in school, and he has never had an IEP.

Kade wants a family who will take him to church. He doesn't have a religious preference and stated that he has lived with families of all different religions, like Lutheran, Mormon, Catholic, and other Christian churches. Kade loves animals, especially monkeys, and always loves going to the zoo.

Kade's adoption team is looking for a two-parent family, but would also consider a single male. He really wants to have siblings and would do best being the youngest, as sometimes younger children bother Kade. They will be looking for a family who lives in the area, or at least in the state or surrounding states. Kade needs a family who is familiar with kids who have been in the foster care system and the challenges that come with kids who have had multiple moves. And if any kid has moved a lot, it's Kade. They will be looking at families who will be committed to help Kade learn important life skills, and seek out the professional resources that will be needed to help him make a successful transition into his new family.
