On May 4, 1977, a plane crash took the lives of two area men, Ishamael Martin and Bill Russell.

According to a news article, the plane crashed into a tree in the Ahsahka/Dworshak Dam area. Martin was the former owner of Greenacres Flight Service and Russell owned a construction company.
