Monday: It winds upward.

Tuesday: Though not really long, it takes time.

Wednesday: Two counties, Clearwater and Nez Perce

Bobbit Bench Rd. winds its way up and over the ridge from about mile marker 39 on U.S. Highway 12 in Clearwater County to Nez Perce County and Peck on the other side. Historical records mention it being used to travel between Peck and Orofino as early as 1910. The trip took about three hours with a team of horses and a wagon. The road was named for an early pioneer of the area Andrew Jackson Bobbitt. He was born in 1863 and died in 1959. He is buried with several other family members in Riverside Cemetery.
