Tuesday: Didn't usually go on roads

Wednesday: Has an interesting name

Straddle Bugs or Buggies were used to move loads around lumber mills. There name comes from the way the wheels of the rigs "straddle" the loads. Betty particularly noted that Jack Maynard drove one for the Riverside Mill.

To see a photo of the rigs, check this web site from the University Southern Mississippi: http://digilib.usm.edu/cdm4/item_viewer.php?CISOROOT=/manu&CISOPTR=8058.
