A pavilion once stood in the Orofino City Park. Many people remember going there for dances, roller skating, sports and many other community activities.

Harriet wrote: "OHS (Orofino High Schoo) basketball team played ball there when I was in high school. We danced there. When I was in high school at Pierce, our dance band played for a dance there. The class of 48 from OHS held their graduation there. There were lots of wrestling matches there. The State Championship for Old Time Fiddlers was held there." She said they also spent hours roller skating there.

Glenna wrote: "I was in 4H for many years, the pavilion was used for several events. One I remember most was the Style Review's when I modeled my dress's and formals I made. My parents attended lots dances there and I was included.

"The high school basketball & boxing events were held there until the present Grade School was built in 1955. High school prom's & Senior Ball's were also held there. The County Fair Royalty - Queen & Princess event's were held there.

"My High School graduation was held there. Phil remembers when I was a Cheer Leader for the Weippe Gorilla's basketball team. I didn't attend Orofino High School until my Junior & Senior years."
