Steiner wins talent show

Chris Steiner is the winner of the first annual Sr. Stephanie Wardle Scholarship Fundraiser Talent Show held at Orofino High School Friday.

The event was sponsored by Clearwater Valley Hospital & Clinic, Orofino High School, and Timberline High School. There were a variety of acts from musicians playing piano and fiddle to tap dancers and singers. There were twelve acts in all.

Steiner played an original composition on the piano and received $50. His name will be engraved on a traveling trophy. Steiner donated his cash prize to the scholarship fund.

Second place was won by Liz Wentz. She played "The Storm" by S. Liapunov on the piano. She received $25 for her efforts.

Ashlee Schrader and Kelsey Anderson won third place by tap dancing to the tune of "Going to a Go Go ". They received $15 for there efforts.

Keela Sykes and Jessica Gasaway received an Honorable Mention for their tap dance rendition to "Do Do Run Run".

Casey Mesa, Joanne Hutchinson, and Kathy Daniels had the tough job of judging the event.

The Orofino High School Drill team performed during the intermission while folks enjoyed the refreshments that were provided as part of the fund raiser.

While the judges were out, Michael Mesa, M.D. entertained the audience with medley of songs, karaoke style.
