Training planned for parents of SED children

"Families Under Construction", a training for parents of children with Severe Emotional Disturbance (SED) and anyone associated with these children, will be presented Friday, June 9, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Orofino Fire Station One, next to City Hall.

Topics will include:

  • Planning a Foundation-"Why do we have kids?", "What do we want or hope for our kids", "Strength of Character or Strength of Behavior"
  • Building on Sand or Rock-"Short Term/Easier softer way" or "Long Term/Lasting way"
  • Five Building Blocks-"Infancy", "Toddler", "Early Grade School", "Late Grade School", "Teens"
  • Landscaping and Upkeep-"Self Control vs Other Control", "Gotta Have Fun", "Take Less For Granted", "Accentuate the Positive...Often"

Lunch will be provided and mileage and childcare reimbursement is available for parents of SED children. Please, register by June 5 by contacting Theresa Graber at 476-4187 or tlgraber@verizon.net or Christina Lymberopoulos at 476-9036.
