Public Health week scheduled April 4-8

LEWISTON- Public Health Week is April 4-8. In celebration of this week, North Central District Health Department would like to encourage community businesses/agencies and their employees to participate in a "lunchtime" walk on April 8.

Many of people miss simple opportunities to prevent health problems by practicing healthy living. One of the best ways to prevent health problems as people age is to stay active. This can be as simple as taking a 20 - 30 minute walk most days of the week.

This lunchtime walk provides an opportunity for individuals to "Take Steps for Their Health". They can leave right from work and walk for 20 - 30 minutes or as long as possible. Even a few extra steps each day can help.

North Central District Health Department staff will be participating in this "lunchtime" walk and hopes to see others out walking too.

Stickers are available to wear to show Public Health Week support. Contact Patty Wood at North Central District Health Department, 208-799-0396, while supplies last.
