PLAY elects officers for 2006-07

Public Lands Access Year-round (PLAY) elected a new slate of officers at its annual meeting Thursday, Sept. 7 in Orofino.

Alex Irby, Orofino was elected president. He has been a member of PLAY since its inception and has been the driving force behind the proposed North/South Route for all-terrain-vehicles (ATV).

Mark Jennings, Lewiston, was elected first vice president. Dave Galantuomini, Lewiston, was retained as second vice president and Heather Sawyer, Orofino, will continue as the secretary/treasurer of the club.

The following board members were elected to one year terms; Past-President Mark Sater, Lewiston; Marvin Crawford, Orofino and Shannon Schrader, Orofino. Those elected to two-year terms were: Jed Dennler, Juliaetta and Bill Soles, Weippe.

PLAY will continue its current work to begin the North/South ATV trail that will eventually connect most of Idaho. The group will also start a web site in the next few months that will allow its members and others interested in land access issues to stay informed.

In the spring of 2007 more ATV fun runs will occur. Those interested in becoming involved with PLAY are invited to join the club for their meetings at 7 pm at the Ponderosa in Orofino the first Thursday of every month. Inquires may also be emailed to: play@usamedia.tv.
