Orofino Junior High Track teams enjoy good season

The Orofino Junior High School boys track teams are enjoying another wonderful track season despite the cold and rainy spring.

This year's boys' team is coached by Chad Easterbrook and Marci Bonner. Brandon Wilson is the manager. Competing on the Seventh grade boys team are Silas Hull, Seth Melton, Nick Brewer, Barry Knapp, Chandler Lytle, Daniel Korbel, Colt Savage, Kyler Dupea, Gilbert Gray, Michael Struhs, Ben Palmer, Steven Elsbury, Sean Perkins, William Unger, and Kenneth Sharp.

In the Seventh grade track meet at Moscow against Moscow, Pullman, and Logos, the final team scores were Moscow 56, Pullman 54, Orofino 41, and Logos 2. The Orofino Junior High boys' track teams competed at Lewiston on May 3 against Jenifer, Culdesac, and Lapwai. The final team scores of the Orofino Junior High Seventh grade boys meet were Jenifer 115, Orofino 81, Lapwai 4, and Culdesac 0.

In the Eighth grade track meet at Moscow with Moscow, Pullman and Logos, the final team scores were Pullman 67, Moscow 49, Orofino 20, and Logos 11. The results of the track meet are as follows: 100 meter dash: 3rd-Austin Summers 13.05; 400 meter dash: 3rd-Alex Schrock 1:07.02; 200 meter dash: 2nd-Austin Summers 26.28; long jump: 2nd-Austin Summers 14' 7", 4th-Adam Wilson 12' 9" shot put: 1st-Dan Deitrick 35' 5"; discus: 1st-Jesse Faler 82' 6", 2nd-Nick Pomponio 77' 3 1/2".

In the Eighth grade track meet at Sacagawea against Sacagawea, Kamiah, and Culdesac, the final team scores were Sacagawea 55, Kamiah 55, Orofino 36, and Culdesac 2.
