Orofino grabs last minute win.

The Orofino High School Football team traveled to Asotin to play the Asotin Panthers in Friday night action.

It was a back and forth game all night long. Orofino got their first two points because of a safety. Then with the kick-off Orofino was able to bring the ball back for their first touchdown.

Ben Hosley scored two of the night's touchdowns. Kody Cochrell scored one touch down and Tyler Brooks scored one extra point.

This game went down to the wire. With only seconds left on the clock, quarterback DJ Wright lobbed a 35-yard Hail Mary. The football was almost caught by the Panthers, but the ball was tipped by the defender and went into the hands of Orofino's receiver Brad Popoff. With the winning catch Orofino beat Asotin by a final of score of 29 to 27.

Next game for the Orofino Maniacs is in Grangeville on Friday Sept. 15. Game time is 7 p.m.
