The Orofino Maniacs in the first quarter played their second string players to give them experience. By the end of the quarter Timberline was ahead by nine to Orofino’s three. Neither team did well in the scoring department.

What it did do is give the Timberline Spartans confidence going into the second quarter when Orofino’s big guns came out and Timberline took advantage of it. The usual OHS starters were slow getting started and sloppy. Mental mistakes on the floor were a problem for the Maniacs. Timberline was ahead at halftime 22-20.

The audience started to see the regular Maniac team come to life in the third quarter and they pulled ahead by 14 points and kept it there until towards the end of the fourth quarter. DJ Wright was the top scorer for the Maniacs with 12 points while Wade Garland helped with 10. The Orofino Maniacs were 55 percent from the line and 47 percent from the field. Final on this one was Orofino 48 Timberline 39.

OHS had their next game at Clearwater Valley High School on Friday, Jan 6. Junior Varsity starts at 6 p.m. and varsity will begin shortly after the completion of the first game.
