OHS JV Girls take on Rams

The Orofino High School Ladies Junior Varsity Softball team took on the Clearwater Valley High School Lady JV Softball team at home Thursday night.

As it turned out the Lady Rams were not to be beat by Orofino. The Lady Rams were able to score their first run in the top of the first inning and two more runs in the second inning. Lady Maniacs were able to score their first run in the bottom of the second inning.

In the top of the third inning, the Lady Rams scored four runs while the Maniacs could not answer. The bright spot of the game was in the fourth when the Lady Maniacs held the Lady Rams scoreless as they brought in four runs for themselves. At this point the score was CVHS seven Orofino five.

Time was running out when the fifth inning of the game began. The Lady Maniacs felt that they could still pull out a win. However, the hurdle grew in the top of the fifth inning as the Lady Rams were able to score two more runs. That proved to be too much for Orofino as they were not able to come back in the bottom of the fifth. Final score was CVHS nine Orofino five.

Next game for the JV Girls softball team is tonight, March 25 at 4 p.m. and again at 5:30 at the A&B fields.
