Orofino loses to Troy by Mike Butler In the second game of the tournament, the Orofino High School Junior Varsity team played the Troy Trojans for the Championship. This game was to be a great challenge for the Orofino Maniacs because the Trojans had four juniors playing on their team. The Trojans started the game with a lot of pressure using the press against the Maniacs. With a fast pace tempo and quick hands, the Trojans pretty well controlled the game in the first half. Orofino however, controlled the boards so that it did not completely get out of hand. First half score was Orofino 16 Troy 33. Troy continued to control the tempo and the game in the second half. Orofino tried very hard to play the game but Troy's skills were better than the Maniacs. Both teams had problems with control of the ball in the second half, but Troy was able to make their shots and the Maniacs could not. Troy won the championship of the tournament. Final for this game was Troy 56 Orofino 36. This is the final game of the season for the JV team. Districts start Wednesday for the Varsity team at Lewiston High School's Booth Hall. They will play at 7:30 p.m. against the Potlatch Loggers. Photos: Top--Nathan Struhs (center) goes up for two points while Doug Williams (right) and Max Anderson wait for results.
