OHS JV beat CVHS JV

by Mike Butler

The Orofino High School Junior Varsity Basketball Team sponsored a tournament at OHS gymnasium Saturday morning.

In the first game for Orofino, the Maniacs played the Rams from Clearwater Valley High School. Defenses from both teams were strong in the first half of the game. This allowed both teams the ability to steal the ball from each other. However, the Maniacs were controlling the boards which allowed them to get the second and third shots. Halftime score was Orofino 28 CVHS 18.

The Rams went cold on their shots in the second half of the game. It was as if someone greased the ball. Both teams had trouble hanging onto it. OHS continued to control the boards so they were able to get that second or third try to get the ball in. The Rams finally started to score in the fourth period putting more defensive pressure on the Maniacs, but the Maniacs held their course and won this one in the end with a final Orofino 50 CVHS 35.
