Round one of the Division 2A Basketball Tournaments at Booth Hall in Lewiston saw the Lady Orofino Maniacs vs the Lady Rams from Clearwater Valley High School of Kooskia.

The first half of the game was fast paced. Both teams played fairly evenly. The Lady Rams had a three point shooter that could not miss and pretty well kept them in the game. Orofino had control of the boards most of the game. Ellen Rouse was working very hard underneath the basket. Getting the rebounds and going up for the second shot was Rouse's job and she did it well. That led her to be the top scorer for the Lady Maniacs.

The second half was a totally different story as Orofino slowed the game down quite a bit. That threw the Lady Ram's game totally off balance and virtually shut down their offensive game. Orofino went on to win this one easily by the final score Orofino 51 CVH 32.

Rouse was the top scorer for the Maniacs with 17. Capri Savage was next in line with 15.

Orofino will meet the winner of the Grangeville-Potlatch game on Friday, Feb. 10, at 7:30 in Grangeville. The winner of this game takes the district title and will go on to state.
