Lady Maniacs fall to Priest River The Priest River Spartans Girls Soccer team traveled to Orofino to play the Lady Maniacs on Saturday Sept. 10 at the IGA Field. In this match the Lady Maniacs lost to Priest River by the score of 6 to 1. Orofino's goal came in the closing seconds of the match and was made by Stephanie McPherson on an assisted pass from Ashley Woolsey. Priest River had 19 shots while Orofino came in with 28. Priest River's goalie (Anne Hust) had nine saves while Orofino's goalie (Celene Kunkel) had seven saves. In the first half Priest River made two goals. The first was at five minutes into the game by Kelly French. The second goal came 19 minutes into the game by Tabitha Clark on an assisted pass by Amanda Redil. French also made the third goal at five minutes into the second half. The fourth goal was made by Clark two minutes later with an Orofino assist. Clark also made the fifth goal assisted by French on a crossing pass. In the 66 minute, Clark made Priest River's final goal. Coach Kendall Bowser said Orofino did a good job controlling the ball and spread well on the field. Priest River played a well collected game and has very good crossing skills. Their shots were on the mark, he added. This puts the Lady Maniacs at 0-3 0n the season. Next match will be Wednesday Sept. 14 here in Orofino at the IGA field against Moscow.
