Six young women to compete for royalty title
Six young women will compete to become Orofino Lumberjack Days Royalty during competition scheduled May 5-6.
The community is invited to attend the Candidate Review Friday, May 5, at 7 p.m. and the Royalty Ball Saturday, May 6. There will also be a special tea for the young women and their mothers. The annual competition is sponsored by Orofino Celebrations, Inc. (OCI).

Lina Barraza
Lina Barraza is 17 and the daughter of Tracy and Lino Barraza. Her talent will be a sign language presentation. Teddy Roosevelt is her favorite historical character because he was a strong leader and not afraid to get dirty. Her hobbies include Kung Fu, shopping and sign language. In 10 years she would like to be an interpreter for the deaf and live in San Francisco. Her favorite pasttimes are hanging out with friends and listening to music and her favorite school subject is leadership. She is sponsored by the Orofino Chamber of Commerce. |
Alicia Hinkle
Alicia Hinkle is the daughter of Aunt Pam and Uncle Ed Matison. She is 17 and her hobbies are riding horses and being with friends. She will do a computer skit for her talent. Her favorite pasttimes are riding horses, reading books and talking with friends. In 10 years she expects to be finished with college and living on her own. Her favorite historical character is Sacajawea because she was a brave and strong woman who battled sickness and took care of her newborn child while helping Lewis and Clark. Her favorite school subject is math and she is sponsored by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3296. |

Jessica Jones
Jessica Jones is the daughter of Alex Jones, Stephanie Jones and Vicki Jones. She will be singing Shenandoah for her talent. Her hobbies include cooking, dancing and singing and she added traveling and shopping as favorite pasttimes. In 10 years she wants to be working in a salon, be married with children and successful. Her favorite historical character is Helen Keller because she is an amazing person and perfect example of a miracle. She is 17 years old and her sponsor is Potlatch No. 1 Federal Credit Union. Her favorite school subject is choir. |
Stephanie Montambo
Stephanie is the 17-year-old daughter of Rusty and Angie Montambo. She will be doing a skit as her talent. Her hobbies are softball, baseball, babysitting and hanging out with friends. In 10 years she would like to be a photographer. She is sponsored by Rotary Club of Orofino. Her favorite school subject is speech. |

Lahni Marie Rintelen
Lahni Marie Rintelen is the daughter of Joe Rintelen and Nancy Stafford. She is 17 and will do a humorous monologue as her talent. Her hobbies are snowboarding, horse back riding, dog training, traveling and scuba diving. Those are also her favorite pasttimes. She is sponsored by Orofino Flower Shop. In 10 years she would like to be working in the medical field and helping others. Her favorite schools subject is anatomy and her favorite historical character is Chris Farley because he as good as any doctor or scientist-laughter is medicine. |
Jillian Wilson
Jillian Wilson is the 17-year-old daughter of Dennis and Janece Wilson. She will be doing a sewing skit for her talent. Her hobbies are sewing, reading plays and scripts and hiking. When she has nothing to do, she enjoys sewing together pillows or quilt tips. Her favorite school subject is U.S. History and her favorite historical character is Rosa Parks because she stood up for what she believed in. In 10 years she would like to be acting in soap opera and starting a family. Her sponsor is Lewis Clark Credit Union Orofino. |
