Orofino man dies from injuries

An Orofino resident has died from injuries received in a one-vehicle accident Thursday near mile post 16.5, Gibbs Eddy, on U.S. Highway 12, according to an Idaho State Police report.

John A. Liebhart, 45, died Saturday morning at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Lewiston, ISP said.

Thursday, he was east bound in a 2004 Geo Prism when he lost control of the vehicle. It went off the roadway into the ditch and up the embankment on the south side of the road. Then it came back down rolling at least twice. Liebhart was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected on the second roll, the ISP report said. The vehicle came to rest off the roadway, according to ISP.

The accident is still under investigation.
