LeadershipPlenty offers third training module On Tuesday, March 8, the third LeadershipPlenty training module will be offered. The topic 'Managing Groups for Results' will feature University of Idaho Cooperative Extension Trainers, Kay Kidder and Kathee Tifft. Both sessions are open to the public and will be held in the Ponderosa Restaurant Banquet Room. The first is from 2:30-5 p.m. and repeated from 6-8:30 p.m. A free dinner will be offered between the sessions from 5 to 6 p.m. "It is not necessary to have attended the first two sessions," said Mary Schmidt, LeadershipPlenty Trainer. "Anyone is welcome to attend any of the nine sessions." Future topics include making meetings work better; managing conflict; building strategic partnerships; moving from talk to action; valuing evaluation; communicating for change and facing the challenge of racism and race relations. Transportation and childcare expenses to attend the training modules are reimbursed through the Horizons Program which received grant funds from the Northwest Area Foundation to sponsor the LeadershipPlenty training modules in Orofino, Kamiah and Elk City. The training sessions are designed to complement the work the three Action Groups are undertaking to implement the Community Vision decided upon at the Community Planning meeting held in late January. The planning groups continue to meet to implement the vision. According to David Beurle, Australian Rural Economic Advisor, groups within the community have the power to revitalize the economy and spur action if they all work in concert to make a common vision become reality.
