Rick Laam, Orofino City Administrator, was at our meeting to introduce our guest speaker. Keith Allred is the founder of the non-profit group "The Common Interest". This group is not affiliated with any political group. Each year they pick three topics either in the U.S. Congress or Idaho Legislature that effect people's lives. In their research, if they find that 60 percent or more of the population agrees or disagrees with an issue, they will inform the appropriate governing body of those views. Currently they have 600 members and are looking for more. The only requirement is that you must vote in the primary and general elections. For more information, check their web site: www.TheCommonInterest.org. Next week's program will be on Croatia. |
