Committee Reports:

  • Beverley Jurgens and Carol Hengen reported on the Walk and Wag. They said it was a huge success since it was the first time they had held this event. They had lots of dogs. It was reported that one of the judges challenged Alan Hengen to kiss his wife after she had just kissed 15 dogs. Twenty-five dollars was at stake. Alan immediately kissed his wife and the judge forked up the $25 to the Clearwater Humane Society.
  • Heather Sawyer reported that the Kiwanis board meeting will be Friday.

Immediate Past Governor of the Pacific Northwest District Louise Regelin was our speaker. She spoke of her recent trip to Australia with Dave, her husband. She reported that in Australia you do not leave tips. She also reported on a project that a fellow Kiwanian started in Australia so the children in Timor could get milk. They now have two herds of cows. A refrigerator truck was donated by Ford. The cost of the truck was close to $100,000.

Next week will be our business meeting.
