Kiwanis meet March 1

The Kiwanis Club of Orofino held their weekly meeting Tuesday, March 1 at the Ponderosa Restaurant.
President Guy Jurgens presided. Jack Crites was the door greeter and Dianne Cochran was the secret greeter. According to Beverly Jurgens there were no birthdays or anniversaries.
Committee Reports:
- Young Children Priority One committee is meeting next Monday Feb. 7 to finalize the Kids Fair that is coming in April.
- Dennis Harper reported on the Community Complex Committee. Next meeting will be March 8 at 6 pm in the basement of the Helgeson Motel. We will have representation from the City of Orofino there. Dennis also stated that there are grants ready to be sent off in relation to the pool part of the complex.
- Jack Crites visited with Sheriff Alan Hengen about bikes in the county. With the donation from the sheriff's office, Kiwanis will have 25 bikes to fix up and to give away to children that do not have them.
- Circus tickets will be here and ready to sell April 1 according to Lyn Anderson.
- Bernice Pullen, Jeff Jones and Dennis Harper have volunteered to be on the nomination committee for next year's officers.
- Work Party is being formed to build moving shelves for the storage shed.
Bo Cummins and Keith Stuffle were the guest speakers. They both spoke of their respective baseball and track teams for this season. Keith also talked about refurbishing the track field at Orofino High School. The cost will be about $30,000.
