Think flickering lights in the sky

July 4th seems far away in the rain and fog of a Clearwater winter, but Orofino Chamber of Commerce and Progressive Merchants are already in the planning stages for "Orofino's All American July 4th Celebration".

This year, the two organizations are sponsoring a raffle to help pay the costs of the free fireworks show that draws people from all around the area to Orofino to watch with friends and neighbors at the city park. Prizes will include various lodging, restaurant gift certificates and golf packages.

In a planning meeting this morning, Ryan Smathers made the first $50 donation of the year as part of the fund raising efforts. Those who would like to make donations may send them to: Orofino Chamber of Commerce, P.O. Box 2346, Orofino, ID 83544.
