Drivers advised to expect potential delays on U.S. 12 Monday night

BOISE - Motorists who plan to use U.S. Highway 12 are being advised to anticipate delays Monday night, March 4, for an over-width shipment that may travel if road and weather conditions are favorable, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

MAK Transportation may move a shipment Monday night that will travel eastbound on U.S. 12 from the Port of Lewiston toward Montana. It is 85 feet long, 17 feet wide and 17 feet tall. The load, allowed to travel between 10 p.m. and 5:30 a.m., will move as long as weather and road conditions allow for safe travel.

The shipment will be accompanied by three flagging teams and escort vehicles to alert other drivers of the load. Turnouts have been identified that can be used by the shipment to limit delays for other drivers on U.S. 12 to 15 minutes.
