Law enforcement searching for Orofino prison escapee

The Idaho Department of Correction is searching for an inmate who escaped from the Idaho Correctional Institution-Orofino this morning.

Michael Dean Henderson, IDOC #80192, escaped sometime between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m. Pacific Time. Investigators are trying to determine how he got out of the facility.

Henderson is 47 years old (DOB: 3/18/1964), 6-feet tall, 165 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair. He was convicted of possession of a controlled substance, trafficking by attempting to manufacture and grand theft by possession in Kootenai and Bonner counties. He was scheduled to be released in 2024 but already was eligible to be considered for parole.
