Bobcat pelt deadline coming GRANGEVILLE - - With the bobcat season closing Feb. 16, the Idaho Department of Fish and Game (IDFG) reminds bobcat hunters and trappers that they have until Monday, Feb. 27, to present their pelts to any IDFG regional office, the McCall office or an official check-point to obtain the appropriate tags and complete a harvest report. A check-point is scheduled for Grangeville on Thursday, Feb. 23, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Senior Center, Hwy. 3 County Road. The check-in will be held in conjunction with Fish and Game's Big Game Public Meeting to collect public comment on proposed changes to the 2006 big game seasons. All bobcats must be legally taken in Idaho. The lower jaws of the bobcats are not being requested this year. All carcasses and pelts must be thawed out prior to tagging. A fee of $2 will be charged for each pelt, and an additional $1.75 vendor fee will be charged to each license holder. Sportsmen can save money by checking all their pelts in at one time, as the vendor fee of $1.75 applies whether one pelt or 10 are checked. |
