Commerce and Labor hold 'Hire a Vet Day'

Idaho Department of Labor and Commerce in Orofino held "Hire A Vet Day" Tuesday.

According to Heather Sawyer, Orofino Office manager, "The event was very successful. There were several employers that came and many applications were taken by the end of the day."

Veterans were able to meet with the potential employers and discussed possible employment and what the job requirements are for the respective jobs.

Sawyer said not all of the veterans were able to make it to the portion of the day with the employers, but her office was able to explain what was available and helped them fill out the applications.

"We even had one job interview conducted before the end of the day," said Sawyer.
