Risch appoints new members to council BOISE - Governor Jim Risch recently appointed eight new members to serve on the Governor's Coordinating Council for Families and Children (GCCFC). These members will serve two-year terms on the council, which is co-chaired by A.F. Skip Oppenheimer, and Carolyn Terteling-Payne. The GCCFC was established by Executive Order, and is comprised of representatives from across the state that are working to improve the well-being of families and children in Idaho. "It is vitally important that our children and families in Idaho have a strong foundation," said Risch. "This council, which is well represented by committed individuals from throughout Idaho, will help build those partnerships on behalf of families and children." Members of the GCCFC represent a broad based constituency of business, law enforcement, judiciary, education, state agency, faith-based and family advocacy. The GCCFC fosters statewide awareness to make family and children's issues an essential priority. They have done so by convening and connecting stakeholders, collecting and reviewing data, coordinating to streamline and maximize resources and collaborating to build partnerships at the state and local level.
