'Good Morning' Orofino' to aid communication The first "Good Morning Orofino" has been scheduled for 7 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, at the Ponderosa Restaurant Banquet Room. "As we all know, we've got a lot of good people doing a lot of good things for our community," said Mayor Joe Pippenger. "In fact, there's so much going on we sometimes can't keep track of it all. In order to help all the many entities that participate in Orofino's civic life keep up with what's going on, we will be starting 'Good Morning Orofino' as a one hour or so quarterly meeting." The format is simple. Organizers are requesting that one person from each entity attend to briefly, in three minutes or less, share an update of the entity's activities. Also, feel free to bring an informational flyer to pass around. The gathering may also include an update or two regarding larger projects that affect the whole community. The whole discussion should take no more than an hour or so. "We've all heard the refrain around here that one group doesn't know what the other is doing, or 'if we had known about it we could have taken advantage of the opportunity'. We want to take about one hour per quarter to provide an opportunity to hear about what's going on," Pippenger continued. "Good Morning Orofino" is an opportunity to begin aligning the community arrows and gathering together to bring positive change to the town. The first information sharing program will include a light complimentary breakfast. Pippenger has been asked to do the welcome and conclusion for the informal get-together. Input and suggestions on how to make the meetings flow smoothly, remain on target and informational, are welcome. Please share those suggestions and comments at the end of the meeting. This meeting is all about communication, so everyone is invited, but organizers ask that only one organization member give an update during the course of the meeting. For further information, contact Pippenger at 476-7796. |
