Anglers picking up steelhead

Anglers are picking up a few steelhead around Lewiston.

According to Evelyn Kaide of the Guide Shop, they are using plugs and flies. Remember, though it is Catch and Keep on the Snake, it is still Catch and Release on the Clearwater River above Memorial Bridge. It is still early and additional water in the Clearwater would bring more fish upriver.

Dworshak Reservoir has also had fairly good bass fishing though the water is down quite a bit from full. Further up the reservoir, the fishing is better. Kokanee have also started moving up the reservoir into the North Fork. Their preferred bait is maggots.
