Chinook fishing has been hot Spring/Summer Chinook Salmon fishing has been really hot in the area five miles on each side of the Dworshak National Fish Hatchery and many of those in boats near Lewiston are also doing well. According to Stephanie Sweener of the Guide Shop, the best baits are eggs with divers and Kwik fish wrapped with sardines. The Clearwater River is high, but clear. Watch for updates on the salmon season as they become available. Kokanee on Dworshak Reservoir are plentiful, though a little smaller this year. Dworshak is not quite at full pool yet. Trout and bass fishing is going well. The bass are in the coves. While boating on the reservoir, watch for debris. Sometimes small things sticking out of the water indicate something much bigger underwater. Sweener advises bring lots of sunscreen. |
