Fireworks that blow up or leave the ground illegal

With July 4th coming up and the hot, dry weather in the region, Orofino Fire Chief Mike Lee and other fire fighters are concerned about the safe use of fireworks.

Lee reminds everyone that with the Fireworks Act of 1997 which is part of Idaho Code, any fireworks that blow up or leave the ground are illegal. He suggests that people celebrate by attending public fireworks shows presented by professional pyro-technicians.
