Donkey Basketball coming March 5 Orofino High School senior baseball and softball players will take the court on donkeys playing teachers and coaches from within the district, Saturday, March 5, at 7 p.m. immediately following the Baseball Spaghetti Feed at OHS. OHS teachers along with other teachers and coaches from within the district have been training secretly for this monumental event. Team coaches want their riders to be in top condition both physically and mentally. Rumor has it that the teachers have had professional rodeo bronc riders come in on Fridays when school was not held to give tips to the daring donkey riders. Donkey Sports, Inc. of Entiat, WA will be providing the donkeys and the officials. Donkey Sports officials will be strictly enforcing the rules against the players abusing the donkeys in any way. However, there is no such rule applies to the donkeys abusing their riders. Additional fun rules that make the game interesting are: players are not allowed to go anywhere without their donkey in tow; and players must be on their donkey's back to shoot, pass or play any kind of defense. Advanced tickets may be purchased at OHS or from any OHS baseball or softball player. Tickets will be available at the door at a slight increase in price. |
