John Davis, 71, Pierce John Earl Davis passed away Monday, Feb. 20, 2006, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston.
John was born Feb. 8, 1935, to Virgil and Thelma Davis in Palouse. He was the oldest of six children: John, Don, Dave, Bob, Sue Johnson and Jean Wells. In his elementary years they lived in Potlatch; Clarkston, WA; Lewiston; Kooskia; Riggins and Orofino. They moved to Kamiah in 1950. He was Kamiah's first Clearwater Progress newspaper boy. He graduated from Kamiah High School in 1959. He joined the Army and was stationed in Germany. He married Neona Stewart in 1961. They lived at Fort Lewis in Tacoma, WA before moving back to Pierce. John worked as a log truck driver for various companies over the years. He loved playing softball, camping, hunting and fishing. He will be greatly missed at Sousie Creek. John was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Dave, and his wife of 43 years, Neona. He is survived by three children, Rick Peterson, Sheri Davis and Erick Davis; eight grandchildren, Travas Davis and wife Rikki and first great-grandchild due in April, Deegan James; Codi Davis, Savanah Meier, Sean Davis, Bobby Davis of Camp Pendleton, CA., Kristina Davis, Keri Davis and Levi Davis; daughters-in-law, Patty Jensen and Lori Ellsworth; brothers, Don of Orofino, Bob of California; sisters, Sue and Jean, both of Lewiston; several nieces, nephews and in-laws. Thanks to all of you! We miss you, Dad. John was cremated at Mountain View Funeral Home in Lewiston. No service is planned. A memorial dinner will be held April 15. The time and place will be announced at a later time. |
