City Council amends FY 2005-06 Budget Orofino City Council amended the Fiscal Year 2005-06 Budget Tuesday to reflect unexpected revenues from various sources. The nearly $100,000 came from the following:
The funds were expended in the following way:
The matter had been left open from the last council meeting to determine if the city would receive formal notification about a $50,000 grant that would help pay for work being done on the roof of the Orofino Business Center. Those funds will fall in the next fiscal year's budget. Crews are working on spraying polyurethane on the roof the Business Center to remedy a problem with condensation, particularly on the east end of the structure. Mayor Joe Pippenger signed a 10 year lease for INC, Inc. to use the east end of the building. They will move in beginning Nov. 1. Jim McCall has submitted his resignation from the Planning and Zoning Commission due to a schedule conflict with meetings of another organization he meets with monthly. Mayor Joe Pippenger expressed regret that McCall will no longer be serving on the commission. Orofino residents that would like to become a member of the commission may obtain further information and application materials at city hall. Pippenger reported that he and Council member Roy Clay, City Administrator Rick Laam and City Attorney Clayne Tyler, as well as Clearwater County Commissioners Don Ebert and Pete Curfman, met with the Clearwater Community Complex Board Monday to discuss the next steps in making the facility a reality. The consensus at the meeting was that Dworshak Recreation District would be the logical owner of the complex. The complex committee will be meeting with the Dworshak Recreation Board to discuss that possibility. The complex committee is also asking for the support of the city and county. Both entities have asked for a specific list of what is expected of them. The council's Police Committee met with Clearwater County Sheriff Alan Hengen and county commissioners to facilitate communication. One of the items discussed was development of a calendar of events for the county that would help keep law enforcement informed about various events that are happening. A meeting has been scheduled Oct. 3 to discuss the proposed North/South Trail for off-highway-vehicles. There may be a need to adjust some city ordinances to accommodate use of such vehicles across or on city and county roadways. |
