CCSO serves narcotics related search warrants Clearwater County Sheriff's Department (CCSO)served three narcotics related search warrants during December 2005 and several Clearwater County residents were arrested in connection with the incidents. On Dec. 17, Cpl. Guy Cordle and Deputy John Hescock went to arrest Wallace B. Billups, 41, at his Pierce residence on a Lewis County warrant. While in the residence, Cordle smelled the odor of burnt marijuana and Billups gave his consent for a search, according to CCSO. Items found included containers with what appeared to be marijuana and multiple pipes. In addition to the Lewis County warrant, Billups was arrested for possession of marijuana and possession drug paraphernalia. Another Pierce resident, Robert M. Martin, 43, was at the residence and was cited by Hescock for possession marijuana and possession of paraphernalia, the CCSO release said. Investigators Sgt. Mitch Jared and Cpl Mandy Barlow served a search warrant at a Michigan Ave. residence Dec. 15 for items believed to be stolen from Green Things Nursery a few days earlier. Two scales, a key and lock were found in a bedroom that matched the description of those taken from the nursery, the release said. What appeared to be narcotics and drug paraphernalia were sighted in the course of the search and the scene was secured while a second search warrant was obtained and executed specific to the narcotics and drug paraphernalia. The warrant included alcohol related items, also, since two of the residents wee under the age of 21, according to CCSO. In addition to what was believed to be stolen property, items found included alcohol bottles, a container of white powder and a pipe. A test done on the white powder showed it to be presumptively positive for methamphetamine. Carlos Wright, 19, was subsequently arrested for burglary. Charges of possession of narcotics and drug paraphernalia are pending. Orofino Police Sgt. Jeff Wilson assisted in the search, the release said. On Dec. 9, Jared served a search warrant for narcotics at a residence on Grangemont Rd. Items found during the search included drug paraphernalia and a zip lock baggy with white powder that tested presumptively positive for methamphetamine, CCSO said. Brandy Howell, 32, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Three adults and two children lived at the residence. Deputy Byron Ellsworth and OPD Officer Eric Dodge and OPD K-9 Officer Ese assisted with the search, according to the news release. |
