Career Fair planned Thursday

Clearwater Career Fair 2006 scheduled Thursday, Sept. 7, at the Orofino City Park will be highly interactive, educational and fun with over 40 vendors committed to be in attendance.

The fourth annual event is sponsored by Idaho Department of Commerce and Labor. The Kiwanis Club of Orofino is also helping to sponsor this year's event. It will run from 10 a.m. t 3 p.m.

"We're expecting some exciting displays this year include a live voltage demonstration from Clearwater Power," said Monica Jones, consultant at the Orofino office of Commerce and Labor. "Two radio stations will be there and we'll have all kinds of occupations represented from vocational to professional."

The University of Idaho and Lewis-Clark State College will also be on hand to talk about higher education opportunities and all branches of the military are expected to participate as well.

The fair is geared toward high school and junior high school age students with schools from around the region expected to attend. The public is invited and home school students are encouraged to participate, according to Jones.
