Removal, destruction of signs illegal

As the general election approaches an increasing number of campaign signs are being placed throughout the county.

Clearwater County Sheriff's Department has received several complaints that signs are being removed and/or destroyed. It is illegal to remove and/or destroy campaign signs at any time. Those with information about subjects involved in removing or destroying any of these signs are asked to contact the Sheriff's Department.

If a sign has been placed on private property without permission then property owners need to contact that person and ask for it to be removed. If the signs are not removed in a timely manner then contact the Sheriff's Office.
