Outdoor burning permits available

Orofino Fire Chief Mike Lee has approved issuing outdoor burning permits within the city limits.

Open burning season is usually from late fall until early spring, depending on weather and fuel moisture conditions. Permits are always required for open burning in the city.

Permits are available at city hall fir $2.50. They are good for two weeks from the date of purchase. Regulations on burning, including times and conditions, are on the permits. Anyone with questions or concerns regarding open burning may contact the Fire Department at 208-476-9335.
