Three injured in rollover

Three people were transported to Clearwater Valley Hospital following a one-car rollover on U.S. Highway 12 at the Orofino Bridge across the Clearwater River Saturday, according to Idaho State Police (ISP).

Jessica A. Jensen, Lapwai, was driving a 2004 Kia Rio eastbound when a 1994 Chrysler LeBaron being driven by Delmar G. Drake, Kamiah pulled out from the stop sign at the bridge. Jensen activated her brakes and the vehicle slid off the right shoulder of Highway 12 striking mile marker 44 and the embankment, then rolling onto the driver's side. No contact was made between the two vehicles, according to ISP.

Clearwater County Sheriff's Department (CCSO) deputies issued a citation to Drake for failure to yield. They also seized drug paraphernalia from a gym bag in the Kia, ISP said.

In addition to ISP and CCSO, Orofino Police Department and Orofino Fire Rescue 3 assisted at the scene.
