Several injured in head-on collision A head-on collision at about 11 a.m. Friday on U.S. Highway 12 near mile post 56, five miles east of Greer, injured several people in the two vehicles involved. George Stockton, 65, Kamiah was driving a 2001 Dodge pickup west bound on Highway 12 in a passing zone and attempted to pass two vehicles in the oncoming lane, according to Idaho State Police reports. Jiri Zapletal, 51, Bothel, WA was driving eastbound in 2000 Audi A64D. In an effort to avoid a head-on collision, both drivers swerved onto the south shoulder where they collided. Alice Stockton was a passenger in the pickup and was not wearing a seatbelt. She received head, neck and back injuries from the striking the windshield. She was taken to Clearwater Valley Hospital. George Stockton was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured, the report said. All the occupants of the Audi were injured and taken to Clearwater Valley Hospital by ambulance. Passengers in the Audi included Robert Adams, Margaret Adams and two minor children, according to ISP. Rescue 3 personnel from Orofino Fire Department had to remove the roof the Audi to extricate the occupants since the pickup was on top of the front of the car.
