Orofino JV split doubleheader with Potlatch

The Orofino High School Junior Varsity Baseball team split a double header with the Potlatch JV team at home Thursday night.

In the opening game, Orofino Maniacs beat Potlatch by the score of four to two. In the first inning, the Maniacs scored three runs. Tyler Moore scored on a Kelby Enevold hit. Then Cody Newman stole home plate for the second score and Kelby scored the final run of the inning off of a Jeff Vicory base hit. Potlatch scored no runs.

There were no runs in the second inning but the Potlatch Loggers were able to score two runs in the top of the third inning. Orofino scored runs in the bottom of the fourth Mitch Reggear hit a two base run and Frank Brown made a hit that brought Mitch home.

In the second game of the night the Potlatch Loggers took advantage of the Orofino Maniacs.

In the first inning the Potlatch JV scored two runs on the Orofino Maniacs. The Maniacs could not answer. In the second inning the Loggers were unable to score. Maniacs got the bases loaded, but Frank Brown struck out for the third out. So no runs were scored.

The third inning was the same story. No runs were counted and the Maniacs left two on base. The bottom of the fourth the Maniacs got the motion going. Mitch Reggear was walked to first by a wild pitch. Frank Brown got a base hit and moved him to third base. Aaron Carr got the next hit and brought Reggear home. Brown scored as the bases got loaded and Aaron Plank got a walk to first.

Fifth inning belonged to the Potlatch Loggers. In the top of the inning, the Loggers were able to score four runs before the third player was out. Neither team scored in the sixth.

Next game for the Orofino JVs is March 23 against the Potlatch Loggers here in Orofino. Games start at 4:15 and will be another double header.
