'Good Morning Orofino' emphasizes organizations

Orofino is a busy place with a wide variety of groups and individuals working to better the community and "Good Morning Orofino" Tuesday highlighted that.

According to Heather Burnham, Orofino Chamber of Commerce director, 41 groups had representatives that reported on their activities, services and plans. The groups included civic groups, service clubs, professional associations, governmental organizations, political parties, youth groups and much more. Each representative had three minutes to tell those in attendance about their particular organization.

While there are a wide variety of organizations in Orofino with many different aims and purposes, there is a need for better communication between those groups for scheduling, collaboration and support. "Good Morning Orofino" is the vehicle conceived to fill that need. Hopefully, groups that did not have representatives the first "Good Morning Orofino" will be able to join the effort as time goes forward.

"I thought it was a huge success," said Burnham. It was well attended. "You never know when you have something for the first time how it will go."

Chamber was the sponsor for the event and Horizons funded the breakfast. Burnham said the chamber is looking at having "Good Morning Orofino" on a quarterly basis.

Note: Window on the Clearwater will be contacting those organizations a few at time to add their information to our organizations section. Watch as we expand that resource for the community.
