4-H 'Know Your Government Conference' set

One of the rewarding programs offered in 4-H is the "Know Your Government Conference".

KYG allows 4-H members in the eighth and ninth grades an opportunity to learn how Idaho's government works with a visit to the state capital over Washington's Birthday weekend. This year's dates are February 18 - 20.

Those 4-H members attending will meet other members from across the state. Members attending will have an opportunity to meet legislators, the governor and Supreme Court justices. The trip also provides the opportunity for members to assume legislative rolls in mock committee meetings, mock floor session and mock court trials. Members also have breakfast with legislators and judges.

Upon a member's return, they can complete a project about their experience by filling out - Exploring Citizenship, My Government (#11002). This is a learning experience that they will carry for the rest of their lives. For more information contact Clearwater County Extension Office at 476-4434.
