Vehicle destroyed by fire

A vehicle was destroyed by fire Saturday afternoon at mile marker 2 on Upper Fords Creek Road.

According to Orofino Fire Chief Bart Jones the fire was caused by an overheated transmission. The vehicle fire caused a small grass fire on the south side of the road.

There were no injuries, Jones said.

OFD had six personnel on scene with Command One, Rescue One and Engine One. Clearwater County Ambulance Service, Orofino Police Department, Clearwater County Sheriff's Office and Clearwater-Potlatch Timber Protective Association responded to assist. John Boys Towing removed the vehicle and trailer.
