Search continues for missing hiker near Kelly Mountain, outside Riggins

As the search continues, Idaho County Sheriff's Office is seeking information about a missing hiker whose last known location was at Coffee Can Saddle near Kelly Mountain, outside of Riggins on Sunday.

Ty Randolph 'Randy' Thurman, 63, is six feet tall with gray hair and beard. He was last seen wearing a black and brown shirt, tan-colored pants and a tan hat.

Thurman was hiking in the Coffee Can Saddle area on Sunday, Sept. 20, when he separated from his hiking partner. They were planning to meet back at their vehicle, but Thurman did not return.

Search efforts Monday included personnel from the Idaho County Sheriff's Office, Idaho County Sheriff's Posse, including dog teams, Grangeville Mountain Rescue, Idaho Civil Air Patrol, and an Idaho County drone.

The search is continuing Tuesday, with the Idaho National Guard Air Guard also assisting with an aerial search.
