Clearwater County Sheriff John Smith asking for caution around firefighting activities

Clearwater County Sheriff John Smith is asking people to please be aware of ongoing firefighting activities as they enjoy summer recreational activities on rivers and lakes in Clearwater County.

Saturday, boats on the reservoir impeded planes trying to scoop water for firefighting activities. At the same time, on the Clearwater River by Greer, helicopters had to abort water dipping operations multiple times because of individuals on personal watercrafts floating through that location.

"For your own safety and the safety of the emergency personnel, please avoid these areas," Smith urged.
