National Weather Service issues Winter Weather Advisory for upper elevations

National Weather Service-Missoula has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Northern and Southern Clearwater Mountains from 10 p.m. Tuesday through 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Snow is expected with the likelihood of minor to moderate winter weather impacts. Total snow accumulations of two t five inches are expected. Areas of particular note are Pierce, Elk River, State Highway 11 from Pierce to Headquarters, U.S. Highway 12 from Lowell to Lolo Pass, Elk City and Dixie.

For moderate winter weather impacts expect disruptions to normal activities. Hazardous traveling conditions are possible. Use extra caution while driving. The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday morning commute, especially over higher passes.
